Sabiexperience here we come!

I'm finally on leave! What a tough but satisfying year this has been, but I think I will save a special New Years eve post for that topic!

For now its off to Mpumalanga, specifically Sabie, for the Sabie Experience Mountain Bike race. We drive through tomorrow and set up camp at Merry Pebbles, then on Saturday morning 700 riders set off for 4 days of tough racing. The first stage (sat) is 77km with 1750m of climbing, 2nd stage is also 77km with 1900m of climbing, the 3rd stage is 70km with 1650m of climbing and finally we end on Tuesday with a short 26km team time trial. The 3 big days are typically 6 hours on the bike over rocky sand roads, rutted jeep tracks, steep twisty single track and long fast downhills too. Have a look at the profiles of each stage:

You have to ride in teams of 2, i am doing it with my Brother in law - Andrew Mills. Wish us luck, I'll soon have loads of pics and vids to post to give you an idea of how it was!!
